Centrelink - Department of MisInformation

The Annoyances, The Big Bad World November 28th, 2007

How I hate Centrelink!!!!! Almost everyone else I know hates them too. They tell you five different answers every time you ask a question. They backtrack and dribble so much BS that I don’t know where to start. My payments have been suspended because I was too sick to attend an appointment, even though I rang in plenty of time and rescheduled the appointment.

Their reasoning for the suspension - to guarantee that the next appointment would be kept. So what if I had still been sick or in hospital or something else had happened to stop me from attending today. TOO BAD. I would have had to wait until I could get into the office to attend an appointment .

The result of this - I am now even more determined than ever to get off their stupid roundabout. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO GO TO WORK IN A JOB THAT I HATE. I would rather die than do some meaningless task that has no future prospects. I will make my internet businesses and my party plan business a HUGE success, just so that I don;t have to pander to the most ridiculously idiotic Government department ever.

Bureaucratic BS abounds in CentreLink more than any other place I have dealt with.  They have no idea how to treat people like people, to them we are just meaningless numbers. Another sheep in the paddock of life. They can go stick it. I’m a PERSON not a NUMBER.

A New Career

The Family, The Good Stuff November 27th, 2007

I’m about to embark on a career change. I have just joined up with an at home party plan company. I’m not allowed to say their name, because that is their policy, but they are a global company who manufacture and distribute a fantastic range of personal care and cosmetic products. I already use and love the products and they are very popular, so that is half the battle won already.

I’ve had a really good reception with getting started and so far everyone I have asked has agreed to have either a real party or a catalogue party to help me get up and running. Should be great fun. I’ve done party plan and other direct selling before, so it is nothing new to me. I was once a Tupperware lady (love the product, but hated trying to sell it), and I did Learner’s World toys and books for a while when Moo was really little and did quite well at it.

Now that I’m older and have more confidence I should do pretty well I think. And guess who sponsored me - none other than my little Moo. The lady who trained me said she hadn’t heard of a mother being sponsored by a daughter before, so we could be a first.

I had a display table at our local school on election day and had a fantastic response. I managed to get ten new contacts names and numbers. I’m hoping I can get a few of these girls to host parties after Christmas to kickstart the New Year. The first team meeting last night was an absolute hoot with a lovely bunch of girls in our team so I’m looking forward to meeting and making some new friends.
